Data Poisoning

Data poisoning is a type of cyberattack where malicious or incorrect data is injected into an AI model’s training set to corrupt outcomes. For businesses, this can lead to flawed decisions, skewed automations, and serious compliance risks.

What is Data Poisoning?

Data poisoning is like feeding junk into your star athlete’s training diet—except the athlete is your AI model, and the junk is carefully crafted malicious data. The goal? Trick the model into learning something wrong.

In technical terms, data poisoning involves injecting false, misleading, or biased data into the training set of an AI or machine learning model. When that poisoned model is later used in production—say for customer segmentation or automated legal intake—it makes decisions based on compromised logic.
